Job Description
An established Australian food manufacturer is looking to engage an experienced R&D; Technologist on a contract basis for an initial 3-4 month period.
n
Working closely with the broader R&D;, Quality and Operations teams, you will support product development, trials, documentation and the successful introduction of new and improved products into manufacturing.
n This is a hands-on role suited to someone with previous experience working within food manufacturing, FMCG or a similar high-volume production environment who can quickly integrate into an established technical team.

The Role
n
Your responsibilities may include:
n
n
Supporting the development and commercialisation of current food products
n
Coordinating and assisting with factory and production trials
n
Developing and reviewing product specifications, formulations and technical documentation
n
Supporting product improvement, reformulation and cost optimisation projects
n
Working closely with Production, Quality, Procurement and other internal stakeholders
n
Assisting with ingredient and raw material
assessmentsTroubleshooting
product and manufacturing issues during trials and scale-up
n
Ensuring products meet relevant quality, food safety and regulatory requirements
n




Managing multiple R&D; projects and priorities within agreed timelines
n
n
About You
n
To be considered, you will ideally have:
n
n
Previous experience as an R&D; Technologist, Product Development Technologist, Food Technologist or NPD Technologist
n
Experience within food manufacturing or FMCG
n
A tertiary qualification in Food Science, Food Technology or a related discipline
n
Experience taking products from concept and trial stage through to commercial production
n
Strong knowledge of food manufacturing processes and technical documentation
n
Confidence working directly with production teams in a factory environment
n
Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
n
Ability to work independently and make an immediate contribution
n
Availability to commence at short notice would be highly advantageous
n
