RN - Mackay Base Hospital - Coronary Care Unit

Mackay Base Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join its Coronary Care Unit on a six-week contract from late August through early October ****. This is a rotating shift role offering up to 80 hours per fortnight across 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts, with a salary range of AUD$***** to AUD$***** per hour. The successful candidate will deliver high-level cardiac nursing care in a busy, specialised workplace where clinical expertise and composure directly impact patient outcomes.

Specialised coronary care nursing in a high-acuity ward setting
n
AUD$***** to AUD$***** per hour, rotating shifts up to 80 hours per fortnight
n
Six-week contract with flexibility and the opportunity to work in a leading Queensland Health facility
n

Preferred Requirements
n
n




Mandatory coronary care unit experience and current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
n
Demonstrated competence in cardiac monitoring and ECG interpretation
n
Practical experience managing patients with acute coronary syndromes (STEMI, NSTEMI) and heart failure
n
Familiarity with haemodynamic monitoring, inotropes, central and arterial lines, and temporary pacing wires
n
Knowledge of non-invasive ventilation (CPAP/BiPAP) and experience with cardiac catheterisation patients
n

Preferred Qualifications
n
n
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse in Australia
n
Prior experience working within Queensland Health or Mackay Hospital and Health Service
n
Familiarity with ieMR (integrated electronic Medical Record) systems
