Job Description
We're seeking a Data Scientist to join the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER), working within the Data Science and Automation Program.

This role focuses on developing and delivering AI-enabled data science solutions, transforming proof-of-concept ideas into practical tools that support ACER's assessment, analytics and reporting capabilities.

What You'll Do
n
n
Develop data science solutions using AI, machine learning and NLP
n
Support the delivery of proof-of-concept projects through to operational implementation
n
Work with complex datasets to generate insights and improve decision making
n
Develop analytical products and reporting solutions
n
Collaborate with IT to implement scalable cloud-based solutions
n
Apply responsible AI principles and contribute to model governance
n
Support testing, validation and ongoing monitoring of data science products
n
Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement across ACER
n
n
What You'll Bring
n
n
3+ years' experience in data science, AI or advanced analytics
n




Strong Python and/or R programming skills
n
Experience applying machine learning, NLP or AI techniques
n
Experience working with SQL and complex datasets
n
Knowledge of AWS, Azure or contemporary cloud-based technologies
n
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
n
Master's degree, PhD or equivalent experience in a relevant field
n
