Established in ****, BJ Care Services Pty Ltd is a registered NDIS provider specialising in person-centred disability support for individuals with complex behaviours of concern. Led by directors with over 30 years of combined experience in the disability sector, we deliver structured, high-quality community and residential support services across Melbourne and Victoria.
Our services include community participation programs, social and community access support, NDIS school holiday programs, life skills development, Supported Independent Living (SIL), Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA), Short-Term Accommodation (STA), and Respite Care. We support children, adults, and families in achieving greater independence, community inclusion, and quality of life.
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Workers to join our team, providing high-quality, person-centred support to individuals with disability, including those with complex behaviours of concern, across our community and residential services in Melbourne and Victoria.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Support people with disability with daily activities including mobility, housekeeping, personal care, medication assistance, and meal preparation
Negotiate with individuals and their families regarding the type and acceptance of care provided
Provide emotional support and assist individuals in managing depression, confusion, and grief
Identify and facilitate community-based social and recreational activities for people with disability
Assist people with disability to access relevant disability support services
Support people with disability to pursue training and employment opportunities
Manage risks and respond to emergencies in a home or community care setting
Qualifications and Experience Required
AQF Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)
Minimum 1–2 years' relevant work experience (essential)
Robust understanding of the NDIS framework, NDIS Practice Standards, and person-centred care principles
Experience assessing client needs and developing and implementing individual support or community participation programs
Proven ability to liaise with community organisations, government agencies, allied health professionals, and families
Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
NDIS Worker Screening Check (held, or willingness to obtain)
Current First Aid and CPR certification (held, or willingness to obtain)
Current Australian driver's licence
