About the role:
n
We are seeking an experienced Paramedic / Emergency Services Officer (ESO) to join our team. This permanent full-time position will provide onsite medical services and support emergency preparedness and response while working an even-time 2:2 roster.
n
Reporting to the Health and Safety Superintendent, the successful applicant will deliver high-quality clinical care, coordinate medical referrals and evacuations, maintain the site medical centre and help ensure the Emergency Response Team, equipment and systems remain ready to respond.
n
This position requires sound clinical judgement, a calm and skilled approach, strong confidentiality and a hands-on commitment to maintaining emergency readiness in a remote mining environment.
n
Roles and Responsibilities
n
Key responsibilities include:
n
n
Provide primary health care and pre-hospital emergency assessment, treatment and stabilisation within professional scope and site protocols.
n
Coordinate offsite medical referrals, patient transfers and medical evacuations with external health and emergency-service provider.
n
Provide timely, confidential advice and updates regarding workplace injuries and support injury management and return-to-work processes.
n
Manage the site medical centre, ambulance,
clinical equipment, pharmaceuticals, consumables and associated inspection and controlled-item registers.
n
Maintain accurate and confidential medical, treatment, injury, health-surveillance and fitness-for-work records.
n
Conduct authorised drug and alcohol screening and other onsite health testing or assessments within qualifications and company protocols.
n
Support the review of pre-employment medical information and fitness-for-work matters in accordance with approved processes.
n
Maintain emergency-response equipment, vehicles, plans, procedures and readiness inspections.
n
Coordinate and participate in Emergency Response Team training, drills and emergency scenarios, including engagement with external emergency services where required.
n
Respond to site emergencies, support site incident-management arrangements and contribute to post-incident reviews and investigations.
n
Support the site Health and Safety Team with health, wellbeing and emergency-preparedness initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience
n
n
Recognised tertiary qualification in Paramedicine or an equivalent qualification accepted for registration as a paramedic in Australia.
n
Current unrestricted registration as a Paramedic with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
n
Minimum two years' operational paramedic or pre-hospital emergency-care experience in a jurisdictional ambulance service or comparable emergency or remote setting.
n
Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue (RII***** or current equivalent).
n
Current advanced life support and resuscitation competencies.
n
Current unrestricted WA C Class Driver's Licence with manual driving capability.
n
Current National Police Clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
n
Demonstrated ability to make sound clinical and emergency-response decisions under pressure.
n
Strong written communication, confidential recordkeeping and organisational skills.
n
Previous remote mining or resources experience is highly desirable.
n
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, authorised Drug and Alcohol Tester certification, Mental Health First Aid are desirable.
