Job Description
McNaughts is a family-owned and operated transport, grain and fertiliser business based in the Finley and Berrigan area. We are looking for an experienced, dedicated and safety-conscious Grain Site Manager who is ready to work shoulder-to-shoulder with the team, support and develop staff, and build strong relationships with growers, customers and the local community. This is a hands‐on leadership role, taking full responsibility for the day-to-day operation of our grain site, with a strong focus on safety, efficiency and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
n
n
Working shoulder-to-shoulder with your team to ensure all commodities are received, stored and out-loaded safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standard — this is a roll-up-your-sleeves kind of leadership role
n
Coordinating day-to-day activities of the team; coaching and supporting the development of team members, including the Grain Site Supervisor and casual harvest staff
n
Getting to know, understand and apply our company policies and people processes
n
Developing and maintaining close relationships with local growers, customers, and the local community
n
Driving a zero-harm safety culture across the site, including secure use of mobile and fixed plant (front end loader, JCB, skid steer, tractors, augers, sheds and silos)
n
Managing programmes and initiatives related to safety ('zero harm' culture) and risk management
n
Overseeing loading and unloading of grain trucks, and weighbridge operations (weighing trucks in accordance with mass limits)
n
Sampling and assessing grain quality on receivals and out-loads,
ensuring compliance with quality standards
n
Coordinating and preparing for area maintenance and pest control teams to deliver required services
n
Identifying and reporting on maintenance requirements, and maintaining site presentation and standards
n
Managing site budgets, stock reconciliation and cost control
n
Coordinating with management on harvest planning, staffing levels and site readiness
n
n
Requirements (Essential):
n
n
Previous experience in grain site operations or a similar
agricultural/logistics
leadership role
n
Proven experience leading, coaching and developing a small team
n
Strong safety leadership and a hands‐on management style
n
Sound understanding of grain handling, storage and quality assessment
n
Confident working with and overseeing mobile plant and machinery
n
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
n
Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities, particularly during peak harvest periods
n
n
Desirable (but not essential):
n
n
Forklift licence or other plant operating tickets
n
Experience coordinating maintenance or pest control services
n
Tertiary qualification in agriculture, business or a related field
n
Genuine leadership autonomy within a well‐established, family‐owned business
n
Supportive, safety‐focused team environment
n
