Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Chef Manager to lead our catering operations across a large 150 bed aged care facility, close to Penrith. This is a newly created role and is an exciting opportunity for a passionate food professional who understands the unique nutritional and compliance requirements of aged care and thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

As Chef Manager, you will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, food safety compliance, production efficiency, and resident satisfaction across the aged care home.

Reporting to the Hospitality Services Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day culinary operations, leading kitchen teams and ensuring meals are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
n
This role requires a solid leader who can balance operational excellence, compliance, team management, and a resident-focused approach.



The client we are supporting is open to someone starting on a fixed term contract or exploring a permanent position.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
n

Proven experience as a Chef Manager or Senior Chef within the aged care sector.
n
Strong understanding of aged care food service standards, nutrition requirements, and texture-modified diets.
n
Demonstrated experience managing high-volume kitchen operations.
n
Sound knowledge of HACCP, food safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
n
Experience leading and developing multiple kitchen teams.
n
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
n
Experience managing budgets, food costs, labour costs, and inventory.
n
A proactive, hands-on leadership style and commitment to resident satisfaction.
