An exciting chance exists for an experienced and motivated Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established industrial operation based in Proserpine, Queensland. Working within a dynamic maintenance team, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of plant and equipment across a large-scale manufacturing environment.

About the Role

/n

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance, fault finding, machining, fabrication, and repair work on a variety of mechanical equipment and assets.

/n

Key Responsibilities

/n
Perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul of mechanical plant and equipment.

/n
Carry out precision machining, fitting, and fabrication activities.

/n
Diagnose mechanical faults and implement effective solutions.

/n
Complete preventative maintenance tasks to minimise downtime.

/n
Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and maintenance documentation.

/n
Maintain a strong commitment to workplace health, safety, and environmental standards.

Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to achieve production targets.

/n

About You

/n
To be successful in this role, you will possess:

/n
Trade qualification as a Fitter & Turner (or equivalent mechanical trade).

/n
Demonstrated experience in industrial, manufacturing, mining, sugar milling, or heavy engineering environments.

/n
Strong machining, fitting, and fault-finding skills.

/n
Experience working with pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, rotating equipment, and hydraulic systems.

/n
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

/n
A proactive approach to safety and continuous improvement.

/n
Current driver's licence.

/n
