An opportunity for an experienced Food/NPD Technologist to take significant ownership of product commercialisation and process development within a growing Australian food manufacturer in a newly created role.

The Sydney operation is at the centre of a major period of growth across QSR and grocery, bringing new customers, products and investment in manufacturing capability.
n
Working alongside another Food Technologist, you'll be the key day-to-day NPD presence on site, with your manager based off-site. This creates genuine autonomy and suits someone who is confident making decisions, driving projects forward and working directly with factory and commercial stakeholders.
n
This is a hands-on, execution-focused NPD role- taking products from approved concept through factory trials, scale-up and successful commercial production.

The Role
n
You'll take ownership of NPD and commercialisation activity across the site, including:
n
n
Lead factory trials, scale-up and commercialisation of new and existing products
n
Translate product concepts into repeatable, commercially viable manufacturing processes
n
Drive projects through Stage Gate requirements and ensure launches are delivered successfully
n
Support the implementation of new processes and commissioning of new equipment
n
Troubleshoot manufacturing challenges and identify practical improvements to product and process performance
n
Partner closely with Production, QA, Technical, Supply Chain and Commercial teams
n
Communicate confidently with customers and manage NPD requirements through to delivery
n
Ensure products meet relevant technical, specification, food safety and
regulatoryrequirements
n

The emphasis is on someone who can take ownership and turn development work into successful factory execution.

About You
n




We're looking for an experienced Food/NPD Technologist who combines strong technical foundations with the confidence and practical mindset to get things done.
n
You'll ideally bring:
n
n
A degree in Food Science, Food Technology or a related discipline
n
Demonstrated NPD or Food Technology experience within food manufacturing
n
Strong hands‐on experience across factory trials, scale‐up and commercialisation
n
Experience implementing manufacturing processes, with exposure to current equipment commissioning highly regarded
n
The ability to manage projects autonomously and make sound decisions without constant direction
n
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across factory, technical, commercial and customer environments
n
Exposure to major grocery, foodservice and/or QSR customers
n
Working knowledge of Australian food regulations, product specifications, labelling and allergen requirements
n
A practical, solutions‐focused approach and willingness to be highly visible on the factory floor
n
n
Desirable, but not essential:
n
Experience within ready-to-eat, chilled, high‐care or other short shelf‐life manufacturing environments where process control, food safety and shelf life are critical.

Salary: c.$100k-$120k + Super
