MARS Recruitment is partnering with a values-driven organisation to recruit an experienced Accounts Payable Lead to take ownership of the AP function and lead a small, established team.
n
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys being close to the detail while also improving processes and supporting their AP team.
n
The Opportunity
n
Lead and support a team of 4 Accounts Payable Officers
n
Oversee day-to-day AP operations, including invoice processing and payment runs
n
Ensure AP processes are accurate, timely and compliant with internal controls
n
Coordinate payment schedules with Treasury and broader Finance
n
Oversee supplier reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
n
Work closely with internal stakeholders, budget holders and suppliers
n
Identify and implement improvements across AP processes, systems and workflows
n
Provide guidance, supervision and development to the AP team
n

About You
n
We're looking for an experienced AP professional who has stepped into a supervisory or team leadership capacity and is ready to take ownership of a broader AP function.
n
You'll bring:
n
Strong end-to-end Accounts Payable experience
n
Previous experience leading, supervising, or mentoring an AP team
n
A sound understanding of reconciliations, payment workflows and internal controls
n
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines
n
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
n
Confidence working with financial systems and digital approval workflows
n
Strong Excel skills
n
A proactive approach to process improvement
n
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 would be advantageous, as would experience within not-for-profit or another values-led environment.
n
