The Role
n We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure & Systems Engineer to join a high-performing engineering and delivery team.
n This is a hands-on role focused on designing, building, integrating, automating, and supporting secure enterprise infrastructure across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments. You will play a key role in delivering modern infrastructure capabilities, supporting platform integrations, improving operational resilience, and ensuring systems remain secure, reliable, and available.
n The ideal candidate will bring strong cloud infrastructure expertise, broad systems engineering capability, and experience working within complex enterprise or government environments. Defence or secure-environment experience will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Design, implement, and support enterprise cloud and hybrid infrastructure solutions across production and non-production environments.
n
Build, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux server platforms.
n
Administer and support identity, authentication, and access management technologies.
n
Implement infrastructure automation, scripting, and operational efficiencies across enterprise platforms.
n
Support platform integration, application deployment, and environment management activities.
n
Configure and maintain virtualisation platforms, storage, backup, and recovery solutions.
n
Support secure network infrastructure including DNS, DHCP, routing, firewalls, VPNs, and secure connectivity solutions.
n
Implement and maintain infrastructure security controls, hardening standards, and compliance requirements.
n
Participate in system upgrades, migrations, patching, modernisation, and platform refresh initiatives.
n
Monitor infrastructure health, performance, capacity, and availability across enterprise environments.
n
Investigate and resolve complex infrastructure, systems, and application issues.
n
Collaborate closely with project teams, architects, security specialists, DevOps engineers, and operational support teams.
n
Produce and maintain technical documentation including solution designs, operational procedures, support guides, architecture diagrams, and implementation documentation.
n
Support change management, release management, service transition, and operational governance processes.
n
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, reliability, security, and operational excellence.

What You'll Need
n
n
Experience in Infrastructure Engineering, Systems Engineering, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or a similar role.
n
Strong hands-on experience supporting enterprise cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments.
n
Experience with Azure, AWS, VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, or comparable infrastructure platforms.
n
Strong Windows and/or Linux administration experience.
n
Experience with Active Directory, Entra ID (Azure AD), Identity and Access Management (IAM), PKI, and authentication technologies.
n
Experience supporting enterprise applications and integrated technology environments.
n
Strong PowerShell, Bash, Python, or automation scripting capability.
n
Experience with virtualisation technologies, storage platforms, and backup solutions.
n
Experience supporting enterprise networking concepts including DNS, DHCP, VPNs, routing, firewall policies, and secure communications.
n
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
n
Experience with enterprise monitoring, logging, and operational support practices.
n
Strong understanding of infrastructure security, compliance, governance, and hardening principles.
n
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
n




Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering and delivery teams.
n

Desirable Skills
n
n
Experience working within Defence, Federal Government, National Security, or other secure environments.
n
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation, or similar).
n
Experience with container platforms such as Docker or Kubernetes.
n
Experience with DevOps and CI/CD tooling including Azure DevOps, GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Bamboo.
n
Experience implementing identity governance, privileged access management (PAM), and Zero Trust security models.
n
Exposure to Secure Gateway, Protected, Secret, or highly regulated environments.
n
Experience supporting enterprise transformation, cloud migration, or infrastructure modernisation programs.
n
Knowledge of ITIL service management practices and operational governance frameworks.
