About the role:
n
WA Football is seeking aRegional Talent Coach – Kimberleyto lead the identification, development and support of talented young footballers throughout the Kimberley.
n
This full-time role will be based in the Kimberley and work closely with players, families, clubs, leagues, schools, communities and pathway partners to provide high-quality talent development opportunities across the region. This is a 3-year maximum term contract.
n
The primary focus is to holistically develop and support Kimberley footballers and increase the number of players participating in WA Talent Pathways.
n
The successful candidate will identify emerging talent,



provide high-quality coaching and individual development support, and help players access representative and talent pathway opportunities.
n
Central to the role will be a strong understanding of the Kimberley and the ability to build trusted relationships across its diverse communities. Player development will be delivered within a culturally competent framework that prioritises the wellbeing and development of young people.
n
Key responsibilities include:
n
n
Identify and monitor emerging talented footballers across the Kimberley.
n
Plan and deliver high-quality coaching and individual development opportunities for identified players.
n
Support players both on and off the field and connect them with appropriate talent pathway opportunities.
n
Build robust relationships with players, families, clubs, leagues, schools, communities and pathway partners.
n
Support players to participate in representative matches, carnivals and other WA Talent Pathway opportunities.
n
Work collaboratively with local stakeholders to maximise talent identification and development opportunities.
n
Support the development of local coaches and quality talent development environments.
n
Ensure all programs prioritise athlete wellbeing, cultural safety and child safeguarding.
n

To be considered for this position you will need to demonstrate:
n
n
Strong understanding of the Kimberley region,



its communities and key stakeholders.
n
High level of cultural competency and ability to build trusted relationships across diverse communities.
n
Strong understanding of talent identification, talent development and the WA football pathway.
n
Demonstrated coaching and mentorship experience.
n
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
n
Ability to work independently and effectively across a geographically dispersed region.
n
Experience working with young people in a safe, inclusive and development-focused environment.
n
Current WA Driver's Licence and Working with Children Check.
n
Ability to effectively use relevant technology to support player and program development.
n
Gold Level AFL Coach Accreditation or equivalent advanced coaching accreditation.
n
Experience within WAFL, State Academy, AFL Next Generation Academy or other talent pathway programs.
n
Experience developing individual development plans for talented young athletes.
n
Experience developing and mentoring coaches.
n
