The Opportunity
Lifeline Tasmania Counsellors provide counselling support to clients in the Construction and Allied Trade Industry and apprentices and trainees in other industries.
As a Counsellor at Lifeline Tasmania, you support Lifeline Tasmania funded programs through the provision of counselling services and conduct individual face to face and phone counselling sessions, whilst adhering to ethical and legal standards of counselling practice.
You provide comprehensive, evidence-based support and collaborate effectively with other professionals and community resources where required.
Documentation will be maintained in line with organisational and professional membership requirements, and you are committed to attending regular supervision and professional development opportunities to ensure you are up to date with the current industry best practice and trends.

As a member of our Training and Support Program you will need an expert range of both technical and soft skills to be successful in this position.
Embrace and respect diversity, providing effective support and assistance to all individuals.
Your excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, negotiation, conflict resolution and liaison skills, combined with high level interpersonal and relationship management skills, allow you to build networks both within and external to the organisation.
An ability to work autonomously, you show initiative and possess solid decision-making skills
You hold a Tertiary qualification in counselling, psychology, social work, mental health or equivalent with a minimum of one years' experience working in a therapeutic role.
Demonstrated experience in the provision of EAP counselling would also be considered desirable in this position.
You are a member to one of one of the following professional bodies: the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) or Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) or / or Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA)
Possess a current unrestricted manual Tasmanian driver's licence, be willing and able to obtain a current National Police certificate and current registration to work with vulnerable people.
