GAME Traffic & Contracting is seeking an experienced and motivated Grounds Maintenance Leading Hand to join our team in Shepparton. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in delivering high-quality grounds maintenance services, and can effectively lead and support a crew in a safe and productive work environment.

About the Role:
n
As a Grounds Maintenance Leading Hand, you will be responsible for leading a team across a variety of commercial, government, and community sites while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
n
Our teams undertake a wide range of grounds maintenance activities including:
n
n
Mowing, turf maintenance, and brush cutting/edging
n
Pruning and vegetation management
n
Weed control and spraying
n
General grounds and site clean-up
n
Operating and maintaining grounds maintenance equipment
n
n
Along with the Grounds Maintenance activities, as Leading Hand you will also:
n
n
Coordinate daily work activities and allocate tasks
n
Conduct vehicle, machinery and site pre-start checks
n
Ensure staff are wearing appropriate PPE and following safety procedures
n
Complete site risk assessments, monitor safety compliance and report incidents or hazards
n
Act as the primary contact on-site for customers
n
Monitor work quality and team productivity
n
Train and support new and existing team members
n
Ensure all works are completed in accordance with GAME procedures and safety standards
n
Managing staff breaks and monitoring fatigue to maintain a safe work environment.
n

What We're Looking For:
n
n
Previous Leading Hand, Team Leader, or supervisory experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, horticulture, or a similar field
n
Current Manual Driver's Licence
n
White Card (or equivalent)
n
Working with Children's Check (or willing to obtain)
n
Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
n
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
n
Excellent communication and leadership skills
n
Chemical User's Permit (desirable)
n
Chainsaw Ticket (desirable)
n
n
