Based in Dubbo with three days per week in the office, a supportive team environment, and opportunities for professional growth.

Salary ranges from $116,981 to $129,492 pa plus superannuation and annual leave loading

About the role
n
Rewarding opportunity to be a part of a team that supports schools and students in providing essential services and support. The role will:
n
n
Receive and assess reports relating to students who may be at risk of harm, ensuring accurate records and timely case management.
n
Provide high-quality advice and guidance to mandatory reporters on child protection obligations, response options and appropriate referral pathways.
n
Work with internal teams and community partners to support effective and coordinated responses for students and their families.
n
Deliver qualified learning to mandatory reporters
n
Provide culturally appropriate advice and support, including referral pathways for Aboriginal students and their families.
n
Contribute to child protection training and professional learning, supporting staff to understand relevant policies, systems and procedures.
n
Identify emerging trends and complex issues affecting student safety and wellbeing and provide timely advice to leadership.

About you
n
The ideal candidate will have:
n
n
Child protection practice and experience, including front line child protection work with families, and direct work with professionals within child protection.
n
Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to convey empathy during difficult conversations
n
Experience working in high pressure environments and demonstrate resilience working in stressful situations
n
Demonstrated skills and experience in effective use of databases (such as ChildStory).
n
Efficient data entry skills including proficient typing ability
n
A working understanding of the legislation governing child protection within NSW.
n
Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
n
Child protection practice and experience, including front line child protection work with families,
and direct work with professionals within the child protection context.
n

Essential requirements of the role
n
n
Current and valid Working with Children Check Clearance for paid employment.
n
Current and Valid NSW Driver's License
n
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
n
