The Opportunity
n
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Plant Manager to take overall responsibility for our Maryborough concrete plant. Concrete production and sales are at the heart of this role — you will be responsible for ensuring every pour leaves our plant on time, on spec, and with the service our customers expect.
n
This is a hands-on leadership role with broad scope. You will manage the full concrete production cycle from batching and dispatch through to quality testing, while also overseeing plant maintenance, inventory, and team performance.

Key Responsibilities
n

Plan and manage daily concrete production to meet all sales orders across both sites
n
Ensure batch and dispatch personnel have access to current batch cards and that concrete is supplied to customer specifications
n
Maintain batch records, logs, and quality documentation; implement and oversee testing programs
n
Drive concrete sales and develop the customer network
n
Manage cash sales, daily banking reconciliations, and accurate reporting
n
Monitor fatigue management compliance for drivers and dispatch staff
n
Ensure adequate agitator truck availability and raw material supply to meet daily production demands
n
Lead, supervise,
and develop all production, dispatch, and delivery personnel
n
Ensure compliance with Byrne Bros Pty Ltd's WHSE Management System, policies, and quality standards
n
Coordinate maintenance and servicing of all fixed plant, crushers, screens, transit mixers, and mobile equipment
n
Manage inventory levels, conducting monthly stock reconciliations and investigating variances
n
Conduct pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, hazard reporting, and risk assessments
n
Prepare capital expenditure proposals and maintenance reports for Senior Management
n
n
Hours of Work
n
Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm. Weekend work may be required from time to time to meet operational requirements.

What We're Looking For
n
n
Experience in concrete production, batching, or construction materials operations (highly regarded)
n
Familiarity with concrete batching plant systems, mix designs, and quality testing procedures
n
Safety-conscious with a strong commitment to workplace health, safety, and environmental obligations
n
Demonstrated experience managing and leading a team in a qualified and collaborative manner
n
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills — our concrete customers depend on reliable, responsive service
n
Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple production priorities under pressure
n
Highly motivated, positive attitude, and a strong work ethic
n
Sound literacy and numeracy skills
n
Ability to work weekends as required
