Job Description
As a Hydrographer servicing Mackay & the surrounding Bowen Basin Coal Fields, you'll collect, analyse and maintain critical hydrometric assets and data that supports operational decision-making, regulatory compliance and asset management. This role offers variety and autonomy across a diverse range of field and technical activities. You'll enjoy a balance of field-based hydrographic work with technical troubleshooting and data processing.

Key responsibilities

Deliver high-quality hydrometric data through monitoring, analysis and fault identification.

Install, operate, test and commission remote monitoring equipment across sites.
n
Effectively manage personal workload, priorities and field commitments to deliver quality outcomes, meet deadlines and respond to changing operational needs.

Mentor junior team members and drive continuous improvement in hydrographic standards and monitoring performance.

About you
n
Diploma in Hydrography (or equivalent) or willingness to obtain.
n
Hydrographic field experience, including installation and maintenance of monitoring equipment.
n
Robust fault-finding, testing, diagnostics and technical reporting capabilities.
n
Ability to mentor team members, manage workflows and contribute to asset management and reliability outcomes.
n
Ability to perform a range of physical tasks in changing outdoor conditions, including working in and around water environments and at times in remote areas.
