Consultant Psychiatrist - Child & Youth Mental Health

Based in Toowoomba, this position offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality psychiatric care while contributing to service development, teaching, governance and evidence-based practice. You'll work across diverse community and inpatient settings, making a meaningful and lasting impact on young people, families and communities.

As a Consultant Psychiatrist within Child and Youth Mental Health Services (CYMHS), you will provide expert clinical care across a broad service profile, supporting recovery-focused outcomes through collaborative, consumer-centred practice.
n

Provide specialist psychiatric assessment and management for children and adolescents
n
Work across community CYMHS teams and the Adolescent Inpatient Unit
n
Deliver care across Toowoomba and surrounding rural facilities
n
Contribute to clinical governance, service improvement and quality initiatives
n
Support education, supervision and mentoring of junior medical staff and trainees
n
Promote evidence-based, culturally responsive and family-inclusive care
n
n
This role is ideally suited to a psychiatrist motivated by clinical excellence, leadership, and shaping future mental health services, while supporting the next generation of clinicians.

You will also have:

Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) or equivalent
n
Eligibility for specialist registration with AHPRA
n
Experience or interest in child and youth mental health across inpatient and community settings
n
A cooperative approach and strong multidisciplinary engagement
n
