About the role:
The City has an exciting prospect for a Development Control Officer to join our team. The role is a technical advisor, problem solver and project leader, working at the intersection of engineering, planning, development and community outcomes. From reviewing complex engineering designs to collaborating with developers, consultants and government agencies, you'll help ensure development across the City is delivered safely, sustainably and to a high standard.
What you'll bring to the role:
The ideal candidate will align with the City's Values and be able to demonstrate the below competencies:
Recognised qualifications (Engineering), or demonstrated relevant experience.
Good communication, written and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal effectively with developers, consulting engineers and members of the community whilst maintaining a strong customer focus.
Ability to provide accurate advice in the area of engineering development.




An ability to perform composite analysis, interpret technical data and consider complex design elements attached to development.
Knowledge of civil engineering design / design review, construction techniques, materials and equipment, in the context of subdivision and land development.
Knowledge of planning process and the relevant statutory guidance for greenfield subdivision and urban infill development sites

Pre-employment requirements:
Current C Class drivers licence.
National Police Clearance not more than six months old.
Proof of right to work in Australia.
White Card.
Desirably hold a current Advanced Worksite Traffic Management (AWTM-NP) accreditation.
Pre-employment medical (arranged and paid for by the City).
