Your new organisation is an established precast concrete manufacturer based in Melbourne's south-east, producing precast concrete pits and civil construction solutions for projects across Victoria. With a friendly, multicultural trade team and a strong reputation for quality workmanship, they're now looking to add a Steel Fixer to their busy production facility.

Pay rate is $***** p/h

Ongoing role - long-term assignment with genuine job security
n
6:00am - 2:30pm, Monday to Friday schedule (possible OT available)
n
Join an established, experienced trade team in a busy precast concrete manufacturing environment
n
Hands-on steel fixing role working both indoors and outdoors
n
What you'll be doing:
n
Reading and interpreting basic construction drawings to install reinforcement to specification
n
Installing reo, mesh, cages, bolts, hold-downs and related fixings to structural requirements
n
Working with rebar and steel fixings, cutting, positioning and tying into place prior to concrete pouring for reinforcement
n




Using required hand and power tools, including drills and hammers
n
Working both inside the industrial warehouse and outside with exposure to the elements, around forklifts, trucks and cranes
n
Working unsupervised and following site instructions
n
General housekeeping duties to keep the work area clean, tidy and safe
n
To be considered for this role:
n
Proven experience as a Steel Fixer, commercial or industrial preferred
n
Construction White Card essential
n
Physically fit and capable of lifting up to 25kg, with cranes and forklifts onsite for additional lifting assistance
n
Comfortable working both inside and outside in an industrial environment
n
Own car and valid driver's licence
n
Competent English communication skills, verbal and written
n
Manufacturing, warehouse or construction experience highly regarded
n
Forklift licence and First Aid Certificate highly regarded but not essential
