Care That Matters
Bundaberg Central
Job Description
Bring Your Experience. Bring Your Heart. Bring Your Genuine Care.
n
At Care That Matters, we believe great support starts with one thing:
n
Genuine human connection.
n
It's the conversation that makes someone smile.
n
The encouragement when something feels difficult.
n
The patience to try again.
n
The little moments that build confidence.
n
The trust that grows over time.
n
And, most importantly, recognising that the person you support is not defined by their disability. They are a person first — with their own story, goals, choices, personality and way of doing things.
n
We're looking for Female Disability Support Workers who understand the difference that genuine connection can make.
n
People who bring experience but also bring empathy.
n
People who know when to step in — and when to step back.
n
People who listen.
n
People who notice the little things.
n
People who celebrate the big things.
n
People who genuinely care.
n
ABOUT THE ROLE
n
No two people are the same, which means no two days in support are the same.
n
As a Disability Support Worker with Care That Matters, you'll work alongside the people we support to help them live as independently, confidently and meaningfully as possible.
n
Depending on the individual, your role may include:
n
n
Supporting everyday routines and personal care
n
Building independence and developing life skills
n
Supporting community access and participation
n
Attending appointments, activities and social events
n
Assisting with household tasks and everyday living, including ILO
n
Supporting personal goals and individual plans
n
Encouraging confidence, choice and independence
n
Supporting people to make their own decisions
n
Providing calm, respectful support during challenging moments
n
n
But the role is about much more than completing a list of tasks.
n
You'll be there to listen, encourage, empower and walk alongside someone.
n
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
n
We're looking for someone who is compassionate, reliable, respectful and genuinely passionate about supporting people to live life on their own terms.
n
You'll ideally have previous experience in disability support and understand the importance of person-centred practice, dignity of risk, choice and control, and maintaining professional boundaries.
n
You'll also need:
n
n
Current Australian Driver's Licence
n
Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
n
Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance — NO CARD / NO START
n
Current Blue Card, where required — NO CARD / NO START
n
Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
n
Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module
n
Working rights in Australia
n
Ability to meet all relevant employment, NDIS and organisational compliance requirements
n
n
A Certificate III in Individual Support or a related qualification is desirable.
n
But qualifications are only part of what makes a excellent Support Worker.
n
We're interested in the person behind the résumé.
n
We're looking for someone who brings kindness, patience, common sense, reliability and a genuine desire to make a difference.
n
THIS IS MORE THAN A JOB.
n
It's being trusted to become part of someone's life.
n
It's helping someone discover what they can do.
n
It's celebrating progress that others may not notice.
n
It's building confidence through small, consistent steps.
n
It's creating moments of connection.
n
It's showing up — reliably, respectfully and genuinely.
n
And sometimes,
it's simply being the person who makes someone's day a little better.
n
WHY CARE THAT MATTERS?
n
At Care That Matters, we believe our Support Workers matter just as much as the people we support.
n
We want to create a workplace where our team feels supported, respected, heard and valued.
n
Our approach is built around:
n
Kindness
n
n
Connection
n
Respect
n
Teamwork
n
Professionalism
n
Genuine Care
n
n
We believe that when our Support Workers feel supported and proud of the work they do, that naturally flows through to the people we support.
n
You'll have the opportunity to make a genuine difference in someone's everyday life.
n
To build confidence.
n
To celebrate the wins — big and small.
n
To support people to make their own choices.
n
To be there when things are difficult.
n
And to share the everyday moments that make life meaningful.
n
At Care That Matters, we don't simply provide support.
n
We build relationships. We create connection. We encourage possibility. We care.
n
READY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
n
If you're ready to bring your experience, heart and genuine care to a rewarding role with Care That Matters across Bundaberg and surrounding areas, we'd love to hear from you.
n
Whether you're an experienced Disability Support Worker or you're beginning your journey in the disability sector, we want to meet the person behind the résumé.
n
If you're someone who believes that how you support someone matters just as much as what you do, you may be exactly who we're looking for.
n
Come and be part of something that matters.
n
Care That Matters
n Supporting people. Building connection. Creating possibility.
n
