Senior Python / Network Software Engineer

18-Month Fixed-Term Contract | Sydney | Hybrid

This is an opportunity to work on software that sits at the intersection of Python development, network automation, APIs, cloud and infrastructure — ideal for someone who enjoys solving challenging engineering problems rather than working purely on traditional application development.

The Role
n
You'll work within an Operations Support Systems (OSS) environment, developing and supporting software that helps operate and automate network and infrastructure services.
n
You'll be involved in:
n
n
Developing and maintaining applications using Python
n
Building and integrating APIs and services
n
Automating network and infrastructure processes
n
Working across cloud and infrastructure environments
n
Supporting CI/CD and modern DevOps practices
n
Working with network management and operational systems
n
Collaborating closely with software, network and infrastructure engineers
n
Contributing to the design and improvement of automation solutions
n
n
What We're Looking For
n
We're looking for someone with 10+ years' software engineering experience who brings a strong combination of software development and networking expertise.
n




You'll ideally have:
n
n
Strong commercial Python development experience
n
Hands‐on network automation experience
n
Solid understanding of networking and infrastructure
n
Experience working with APIs and integrations
n
Experience with AWS
n
Strong understanding of CI/CD and DevOps
n
Experience working with integration platforms such as Boomi would be advantageous
n
A track record of developing production‐quality software
n
n
We're particularly interested in engineers who have worked across the boundary between software engineering and
network/infrastructure
engineering.
