To participate in the day to work of the mental health unit dispensary, providing quality, accurate dispensing.
n
To participate in the supply of medicines in the form of in and out-patient dispensing, including accurate prescription receipt, labelling and assembly, and ensuring prompt completion and distribution, in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
n
Contributing to the smooth running of the clozapine service.
n
Ordering of stock medication for wards and distribution of medicines to the wards.
n
Maintaining working stock levels of pharmaceuticals and other items, including bottles and consumables in the dispensary.
n




Participating in the stock control process including stock checking, receipt and storage of medicines and other items.
n
Processing the disposal of stock returned from wards and departments.
n
Performing general housekeeping duties to maintain the dispensary setting to the standards required.
n
Communicating with service users, carers and members of staff at the pharmacy hatch and telephone about the availability of medicines and other issues.
