Food & Beverage Attendants | Holiday Inn & Suites Geelong

A Food and Beverage Attendant will serve food and beverages in a timely manner while ensuring a hygienic setting, helping guests to have a memorable experience whenever they dine.
n
Key responsibilities
n
Create a warm welcome to everyone and set the tone for each guest's experience
n
Prepare food and beverages for service to guests and present food according to established health and presentation standards
n
Look after the bar – keep it clean and tidy and make sure alcohol is always secure
n
Handle cash and credit transactions
n
Wear uniform with pride
n
Be ready to jump into other ad-hoc duties when colleagues need help
n
Always follow safety procedures
n
Monitor guest behaviour and guest alcohol consumption to determine when alcohol service should cease; notify management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption or impaired condition of guests; check identification whenever the age of a guest requesting an alcoholic beverage service is questionable
n
Clear and clean tables in a prompt and efficient manner. Clean and/or wipe down tables, chairs, walls, windows, mirrors, and floors as necessary
n
Take action to solve guest
problems/complaints




and use established guidelines for any service recovery to ensure guest satisfaction; notify team leader on shift of any experienced issues
n
Receive guest payments and process transactions as outlined in cash and charge procedures
n
About you
n
Fitness – you'll be on your feet most of the day with lots of bending and kneeling
n
Strength – sometimes you'll need to lift, push or pull big objects like barrels and crates up to 23 kg
n
Literate – you'll need a good grasp of reading, writing and basic maths
n
Flexible – night, weekend and holiday shifts are all part of the job
n
Experienced – you'll know how to prepare a wide range of drinks. Ideally with formal bartending training
n
Compliant – as well as meeting local laws on food handling and serving alcohol, you'll be above the minimum age required and fluent in the local language
n
Articulate – a great communicator, you'll be warm, welcoming and easy to talk to
n
