Join our dedicated Environmental Services team as a Casual Housekeeper and play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming workplace for our patients, visitors and staff. Working as part of a supportive team, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness across hospital areas while following infection prevention, workplace health and safety and hospital procedures.

You have a strong work ethic, good attention to detail and understand the importance of maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in a healthcare setting. You are comfortable working both independently and as part of a team and take a professional and respectful approach when interacting with patients, visitors and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Clean and maintain patient rooms, wards, bathrooms, offices, common areas and other hospital areas to a high standard.
n
Perform vacuuming, mopping, dusting and general housekeeping duties.
n
Remove rubbish and waste safely and in accordance with hospital procedures.
n
Maintain clean, safe and hygienic environments for patients, visitors and staff.
n
Follow Infection Prevention and Control and Workplace Health and Safety procedures at all times.
n
Use cleaning equipment and machinery safely and appropriately.
n
Restock cleaning supplies and maintain equipment as required.
n
Identify and report hazards, maintenance issues or concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
n
Work collaboratively with the Environmental Services team to achieve daily cleaning requirements.
n
Communicate respectfully and professionally with patients, visitors and hospital staff.
n
Complete other cleaning and housekeeping duties as directed.

You Will Also Bring
n
n
Previous experience in housekeeping,



cleaning or environmental services is desirable.
n
Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare environment is highly regarded.
n
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleaning standards.
n
Understanding of infection prevention and hygiene principles.
n
Ability to follow procedures and work safely.
n
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
n
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
n
Reliable, punctual and conscientious work ethic.
n
Positive and professional attitude.
n
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
n
Willingness to learn and operate cleaning equipment and machinery.

Flexibility to work a casual roster, including weekends and varied shifts as required.
