A local council in the Northern suburbs is seeking an experienced Equity & Wellbeing Project Officer to join their team on a 3-month contract, supporting the delivery of key equity, inclusion and wellbeing initiatives.
n
This is a great opportunity for someone with experience across social policy, gender equality, community development or family violence prevention, looking to make an immediate impact within a busy local government environment.
n
The Role Working closely with the Senior Coordinator, you will provide project, operational and coordination support across the Equity, Inclusion and Wellbeing portfolio.
n
Key responsibilities
n
n
Supporting the planning, delivery and evaluation of community-based projects and action plans
n
Coordinating initiatives relating to gender equality and prevention of gender-based violence
n
Supporting the delivery of 16 Days of Activism activities
n
Supporting Gender/Equity Impact Assessments
n
Providing project and administrative support to the Free From Violence program
n
Coordinating events, including venues, catering, equipment and on-the-day logistics
n
Supporting community and stakeholder engagement activities
n
Facilitating and participating in external network meetings
n
Maintaining accurate budgets, financial records and project documentation
n
Managing competing priorities and ensuring projects are delivered within agreed timeframes
n

About You
n
To be successful in this role, you will have:
n
n
Experience in project management and planning within a social policy or community-focused environment
n
Demonstrated experience in gender equality and/or prevention of gender-based or family violence
n
Experience undertaking Gender Impact Assessments or similar
n
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
n
Experience supporting community programs, projects or events
n
Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
n
Experience working with budgets, procurement and financial processes
n
A strong understanding of equity, inclusion and wellbeing principles
n
Local government experience is highly regarded
n
n
A relevant qualification in gender studies, public health, community development, public policy or a related field will be highly regarded.
n
