Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter for an ongoing opportunity within a busy manufacturing environment.

This is a hands-on maintenance role working across production machinery and plant equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for breakdown maintenance, machine setups, preventative maintenance, repairs and plant improvements, with a solid focus on keeping production running efficiently.

This role will on a rotating roster, primarily being day shift, Monday to Friday, with one afternoon shift a month and occasional weekend shifts as well.
n
Key Responsibilities:
n
n
* Attend to breakdowns and troubleshoot mechanical issues across production machinery
n
* Complete machine setups and adjustments across production areas
n
* Carry out preventative and routine maintenance on plant and equipment
n
* Maintain motors, bearings, pumps and associated components
n
* Top up oils and lubricants as required
n
* Carry out general mechanical repairs and maintenance
n
* Manufacture and fabricate parts to improve or repair equipment
n
* Perform machining work within the workshop
n
* Complete basic TIG welding where experience allows
n
* Assist with equipment installations and plant improvements
n
* Ensure machinery is operating efficiently and minimise production downtime
n
* Work as part of a team alongside skilled trades and production staff
n
* Maintain a safe,
clean and organised work environment
n
* Attend emergency breakdowns outside normal shift hours when required
n
* Assist with scheduled Sunday production and preventative maintenance when required
n

Requirements:
n
n
* Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter
n
* Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment
n
* Strong breakdown and fault-finding experience
n
* Experience maintaining production machinery
n
* Mechanical experience with motors, bearings, pumps and associated equipment
n
* Ability to carry out preventative maintenance
n
* Basic machining experience highly regarded
n
* TIG welding experience highly regarded
n
* Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
n
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
n
* Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
