OZ Excavator Buckets is a well-established manufacturer of excavator attachments based in Oxley, Brisbane. We design and manufacture high-quality excavator buckets and attachments supplied across Australia.

Due to a recent team member moving on, we are seeking a Production Assistant to join our workshop team supporting our surface finishing and paint preparation department. This role will start as full time casual role with pathway to permanent.

About the Role
n
This role plays an significant part in ensuring our excavator attachments leave the workshop looking clean, professional and ready for painting.
n
Working closely with our fabrication and paint teams, you will assist in preparing steel attachments and components prior to entering the paint booth.
n
Much of the work involves carefully preparing steel surfaces using grinders and hand tools, ensuring attachments are clean, free from sharp edges, grind marks and imperfections before painting.
n
We are looking for someone who takes pride in producing clean, high-quality work and understands the importance of finish and presentation.
n
Typical Tasks
n
n
Grinding and smoothing welds and steel edges
n
Removing sharp edges, burrs and surface imperfections
n
Cleaning attachments prior to painting
n
Preparing excavator attachments and components for the paint booth
n
Using orbital sanders to blend blemishes in primer prior to final paint
n
Assisting with paint preparation and spray painting when required
n
Using hand tools, grinders and workshop equipment
n




Moving steel attachments using lifting aids and cranes
n
Working with the production team to maintain quality standards
n

About You
n
n
We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, good attention to detail and pride in their work.
n
Previous workshop or manufacturing experience is helpful but not essential — we are happy to train the right person.
n
To be successful in this role you will have:
n

n
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
n
Pride in producing clean, quality work
n
Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools
n
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
n
Reliable transport to our Oxley workshop (public transport is limited)
n
Ability to lift items up to 20kg when required
n

n
Highly regarded but not essential:
n
n
n
Previous experience in fabrication or manufacturing
n
Experience using grinders or power tools
n
Paint preparation or spray painting experience
n
n
