Marine Trades Assistant / Junior Shipwright

We are looking for a reliable person to join our busy marine workshop in Taren Point. This position may suit a junior or apprentice shipwright, a boat polisher or marine detailer, a trades assistant with practical, hands-on experience, or someone new to the marine industry who is motivated and willing to learn. We can provide training in antifouling, hull preparation and other areas of marine work.

Key responsibilities

Preparing hulls for antifouling
n
Sanding and applying antifouling paint
n
Boat polishing, cutting and detailing
n
Fibreglass and gelcoat preparation
n
Assisting with shipwright repairs and boat refits
n
General boat maintenance
n
Workshop preparation and clean-up
n

Reliable and arrives on time
n
Physically fit and comfortable with practical work
n
Pays attention to detail
n
Works well as part of a team
n
Willing to learn new skills
n
Has own reliable transport
n
Full time work, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm
