MCJ Appointments is seeking an experienced Landscape Architect to lead place-based projects that improve the functionality, accessibility and overall experience of local town centres.
n
This is an exciting opportunity to deliver placemaking initiatives, public realm improvements, activations and landscape projects that strengthen local identity, support businesses and create vibrant community spaces.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Lead small-scale placemaking, landscape and public realm projects.
n
Deliver place activations, public art and town-centre improvements.
n
Develop project plans, budgets, timelines and risk controls.
n
Prepare design briefs, business cases and procurement documentation.
n
Manage consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
n
Engage with businesses, community members and key stakeholders.
n
Coordinate initiatives with capital works, events and economic development programs.
n
Monitor and evaluate project outcomes.
n
Prepare professional reports, presentations and Council briefings.
n
Provide specialist advice on landscape design and place enhancement.
n

About You
n
You will bring:
n
n
Tertiary qualifications in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, Urban Design, Project Management or equivalent experience.
n




At least five years' relevant post-graduate professional experience.
n
Robust knowledge of placemaking, urban design and place activation.
n
Experience delivering public art, activation or public realm improvement projects.
n
Proven ability to manage multiple projects from concept through to completion.
n
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
n
Strong AutoCAD skills.
n
Experience using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
n
A current Class C Driver Licence.
n
Local government experience is highly desirable.
n
n
Some attendance at after-hours events or meetings may be required.
