Senior Shopify Developer / Technical Consultant

Senior Shopify Developer / Technical Consultant needed to join an established digital commerce consultancy delivering sophisticated Shopify and Shopify Plus solutions for leading brands.
n
We're looking for a highly experienced Shopify Technical Consultant who combines strong hands-on development capability with the confidence to work directly with clients, lead technical conversations and take solutions from initial requirements through to production.
n
This isn't a purely advisory role. You'll remain hands-on technically, while taking ownership of solution design, development, integrations, testing, deployment and technical delivery.
n
The Role Working across Shopify support, retainers and major implementation projects, you will:
n
n
Own Shopify technical delivery from requirements through to go-live
n
Design, build, test and deploy Shopify solutions and integrations
n
Lead technical discovery, workshops and solutioning discussions with clients
n
Work across Shopify Online Store, Liquid, Hydrogen, Apps, Functions and APIs
n
Develop and integrate custom Shopify applications
n
Deliver integrations across ERP, loyalty, fulfilment, POS and other platforms
n
Support integration testing, UAT, cutover and production releases
n
Provide technical estimates and identify scope, delivery and technical risks
n
Provide technical oversight and guidance to other developers
n
Contribute to CI/CD,



deployment tooling and Shopify development standards
n
Work with emerging AI and LLM technologies within ecommerce and Shopify environments
n
n
What We're Looking For:
n
n
5+ years' hands-on Shopify development experience
n
Strong commercial experience with Shopify Plus
n
Advanced Liquid development skills
n
Experience with Hydrogen, Shopify CLI, Markets, Functions, Apps and UI Extensions
n
Strong knowledge of Shopify Storefront and Admin APIs
n
Experience building custom Shopify apps
n
Robust third-party integration experience
n
Experience across the complete software delivery lifecycle
n
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines within Shopify environments
n
Experience working in an agency, consultancy or professional services setting highly desirable
n
Strong client-facing and stakeholder communication skills
n
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear commercial language
n
n
Exposure to AI tooling, LLM integrations or AI-enabled ecommerce would be highly regarded.
n
