Job Description
Recent Graduate Physiotherapist — Full Time - February **** Start
n
Graduate this year? Secure your first Physio role now — then take a proper break before your career begins.
n
You've spent years getting through university. We don't think you need to finish your final exams and immediately start your career.
n
We're recruiting now for a New Graduate Physiotherapist to join Livfit Physio Mornington in early February ****.
n
Secure your position this year. Finish uni. Celebrate. Travel. Enjoy summer and some well-earned time with friends and family.
n
Then start your career in February fresh, recharged and ready to learn.
n
YOUR FIRST YEAR SHOULD BE ABOUT MORE THAN SURVIVING PRIVATE PRACTICE
n
At Livfit, our goal is to develop you into a confident, capable and commercially successful private-practice Physiotherapist.
n
You'll work directly alongside the clinic owner, a Physiotherapist with 28 years' private-practice experience and a track record of building successful clinics and developing physiotherapists into senior clinicians and, in some cases, business partners.
n
We're independently owned — not a franchise — so your mentoring and development happen directly with the people you work alongside.
n
We don't expect you to arrive as an experienced Physiotherapist.
n
We do expect you to want to become one.
n
A STRUCTURED GRADUATE DEVELOPMENT SYSTEM
n
You won't simply be handed a diary and left to work things out for yourself.
n
n
Structured clinical induction and onboarding
n
Weekly mentoring and case reviews
n
Training in clinical reasoning and common musculoskeletal presentations
n
Development of both manual therapy and exercise rehabilitation skills
n
Practical frameworks for running confident consultations
n
Training in patient communication and expectation-setting
n
Treatment planning and caseload management
n
Clear performance milestones throughout your first year
n
Regular feedback as your confidence and independence increase
n
n
You'll always know what you're working towards and where you need to improve.
n
COME AND SEE FOR YOURSELF
n
We don't expect you to choose your first clinic based on promises in a job ad.
n
Shortlisted candidates will have the opportunity to spend half a day alongside our recently graduated Physiotherapist as well as the owner before making a decision.
n
You'll observe real consultations, meet the team and see firsthand how we communicate with clients, approach treatment, mentor our clinicians and operate as a clinic.
n
You'll get to see who we actually are — not just who we say we are.
n
DEVELOP A BROAD CLINICAL SKILL SET
n
Exercise prescription and progressive rehabilitation deserve a major role in physiotherapy, and we place a strong emphasis on developing these skills.
n
But we also believe a well-rounded physiotherapist should develop strong hands-on clinical skills.
n
During your graduate year, we'll help you develop manual therapy, exercise prescription, rehabilitation and clinical reasoning together, rather than limiting your development to one treatment approach.
n
You'll also learn how to:
n
n
Communicate confidently with patients
n
Explain conditions in language patients understand
n
Build trust and rapport
n
Set realistic expectations
n
Develop and communicate clear treatment plans
n
Measure and demonstrate progress
n
Build and retain a healthy caseload
n
Manage your diary effectively
n
Understand the commercial drivers of a successful private practice
n
n
Our objective is to develop you across the areas that matter: clinical reasoning, hands-on skills, rehabilitation, patient communication and commercial capability.
n
We don't expect you to develop rehabilitation skills with a resistance band in the corner of a treatment room.
n
Our physiotherapists have access to a fully equipped off-site commercial gym - Train 247, with all the equipment you'd expect to find in a commercial gym as well as a reformer Pilates studio.
n
This gives you the opportunity to develop your skills in exercise prescription and progressive rehabilitation using proper equipment in a real training environment.
n
We also use our own custom-built App for exercise prescription, education and patient empowerment, which you'll learn to incorporate into your clinical care.
n
And as a Livfit physiotherapist, you'll receive free gym membership at Train 247 for your own use.
n
A CLEAR FIRST-YEAR PROGRESSION
n
Your caseload will build progressively. We don't expect you to walk in on day one with the productivity of an experienced physiotherapist.
n
We do have clear milestones around clinical development, caseload growth and utilisation.
n
You'll review your progress regularly with the clinic owner, receive direct feedback and be given increasing autonomy as your capability develops.
n
The goal is for you to finish your graduate year as a confident,
independent private-practice Physiotherapist with a strong and sustainable caseload.
n
$81K BASE + SUPER — WITH COMMISSIONS
n
Your starting base is approximately $81,000 + super.
n
As your caseload grows, your earning potential grows with it.
n
Our remuneration model rewards performance, so high-performing clinicians don't have to wait years for their income to reflect their contribution.
n
High-performing clinicians progress beyond $100,000 in their first year.
n
WHERE CAN YOUR CAREER GO AFTER YEAR ONE?
n
Career progression isn't a normal part of most private practice. Our clinic is different.
n
After your graduate year, there are two broad pathways:
n
Clinical Pathway
n
Become an exceptional private-practice clinician, develop a strong caseload and continue increasing your autonomy and earning capacity without needing to take on management responsibilities.
n
Business & Leadership Pathway
n
If you're interested in how a successful private practice operates, you can develop your commercial and leadership capability, with potential progression into clinic leadership and greater participation in clinic growth.
n
Progression is based on performance and capability — not simply years served.
n
A ROSTER DESIGNED TO HELP YOU BUILD
n
Building a caseload requires being available when patients want appointments.
n
Your first-year roster therefore includes a combination of mornings, evenings and every-second-Saturday shifts, including some of the clinic's highest-demand appointment periods.
n
This gives a new clinician the best opportunity to establish a solid caseload.
n
As your caseload and contribution become established, greater roster flexibility becomes available.
n
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
n
We're more interested in your attitude and behaviour than how impressive your graduate CV looks.
n
We're looking for someone who:
n
n
Wants feedback and acts on it
n
Communicates confidently and genuinely cares about people
n
Is reliable and professional
n
Takes responsibility rather than making excuses
n
Wants to become excellent at private practice
n
Is comfortable working towards clear expectations
n
Wants their income and autonomy to increase with their capability
n
Is prepared to work hard while establishing their career
n
Wants somewhere they can genuinely develop over several years
n
n
This won't suit someone looking for a low-accountability graduate position where simply turning up is considered good performance.
n
It will suit someone who wants to look back three years from now and see clinical ability, confidence, a high income and career opportunities.
