About the role:
n
n
Work across a varied portfolio of statutory insurance matters, including worker's compensation, Work Injury Damages, industrial common law claims, CTP and dust disease
n
Manage a busy caseload with a high degree of autonomy while working closely with experienced senior practitioners
n
Advise clients on liability, quantum, claims strategy and dispute resolution in a constantly evolving legislative environment
n
Build direct relationships with insurers, employers, self-insurers, brokers and government stakeholders
n
Appear in relevant commissions and courts, and participate in conferences,



mediations and settlement negotiations
n
Instruct and work closely with medical, liability and investigation experts
n
Develop deep procedural and technical expertise while building a clear specialization within statutory insurance litigation
n
n
The ideal candidate:
n
n
Associate or Senior Associate with approximately 3+ years' PQE
n
Experience in workers' compensation, Work Injury Damages, statutory insurance, CTP or broader defendant insurance litigation
n
Demonstrated ability to manage matters with increasing independence and confidently engage with clients
n
Strong drafting, analytical and strategic thinking skills
n
Comfortable working in a fast-paced practice with a significant volume of active matters
n
Commercial, personable and collaborative, with a genuine interest in developing specialist expertise within statutory insurance
n
