Pastry / Baker & Cake Decorator

We are seeking a full time candidate to support our team of qualified Pastry Chefs and Bakers to further add creativity, passion, and precision to the team.
n
We create indulgent, handmade tortes, vintage cakes, slices, cake slabs, brownies, sweet pies and biscotti - to name a few. This role involves basic recipe preparation, baking, assembly and finishing cakes.
n
You don't have a formal qualification? Not to worry, the role does not require a trade qualification, however previous experience in a similar role is required for a successful application.
n
We'd love to hear from you if you have both baking and decorating skills – but if you're great at one, we still want to hear from you.
n
Candidates with both baking and decorating skills are strongly preferred for this position.

What you'll be doing:
n
n
Icing and decorating cakes, cupcakes, biscuits and brownies, etc., - all to exceptional standard
n
Decorating cakes with creativity and flair (will consider basic skills)
n
Candidates applying primarily as bakers must possess intermediate cake decorating techniques including creative flair and presentation skills.
n
Helping develop new recipes & seasonal creations
n




Maintaining strict food safety & hygiene

What we're looking for
n
n
Minimum 2 years' experience as a professional baker or cake decorator in a commercial setting
n
Relevant commercial experience includes any commercial kitchen environment such as bakeries, cafes, restaurants, hotels, or catering facilities.
n
Demonstrated expertise in preparing a wide range of baked goods, including artisanal pastries, cakes and desserts
n
Exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics to create visually stunning baked products
n
Excellent time management skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
n
Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with the pastry team
n
Passion for the art of baking/or cake decorating and a commitment to using high-quality, fresh ingredients
n
