Hale School is Western Australia's oldest independent boys' school. Located in the suburb of Wembley Downs, the current campus is situated on a magnificent 48-hectare site, approximately 13 kilometres to the north-west of Perth and two kilometres from the coast.

Hale School is seeking applications from dynamic, enthusiastic, experienced and well-qualified teachers to fill this significant leadership position. The Head of Art is a key role in the School, providing effective leadership of the Art Department and with responsibility for establishing the highest standards of Art learning and practice across Years 7 to 12.

The successful applicant will demonstrate:
n
exemplary teaching of Art, with experience of, or capacity for, teaching Year 12 Visual Arts (ATAR)
n
a willingness to pursue avenues, within and beyond the classroom curriculum, that enhance boys' engagement in, appreciation for, and capacity to produce art
n
the capacity to lead and motivate others
n
the ability to communicate effectively
n
the ability to relate well to students, staff and parents
n
a strong work ethic
n
knowledge of, and interest in, developments in Art education
n
proven ability to effectively utilise technology in the classroom
n
proven ability to work as a member of a team
n
an understanding of, and empathy for, the learning needs and social, emotional and spiritual development of boys
n
a firm commitment to independent schooling and a willingness to support the School's values and Anglican traditions.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
n
Hold appropriate teaching qualifications.
n
Have current registration as a teacher with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA) or be eligible for registration.
n
Have a current Working with Children check.
n

Hale School reserves the right to contact non-nominated referees prior to an offer of employment being made.

New applicants who have arrived in Australia within the last 12 months are required to provide Hale School with a Police Clearance issued by their country of origin within the last 12 months prior to appointment preceding the employee's appointment to Hale School. Documents are to be translated by a certified agent if necessary. The cost of this clearance is to be borne by the applicant.
