Job Description
The Junior Accountant reports to the Finance Manager of the Australian subsidiary and is responsible for day-to-day accounting operations, cash management, tax compliance, and coordination with the Group Finance team. This role requires a working knowledge of both PRC GAAP and Australian Accounting Standards (AASB), with English as the working language.

Key Responsibilities
n
2.1 Daily Operations - AP, AR, Bank Reconciliation & Reimbursements
n
n
Process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), including invoice verification, data entry, and payment processing.
n
Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accurate and up-to-date account balances.
n
Manually reconcile entries recorded in the OA system and handle travel reimbursement and administrative procurement transactions.
n
Review employee expense reimbursement claims to ensure compliance with company policies.
n
Manage daily cash receipts and payments, prepare daily cash reports, and ensure fund security.
n
Review and post various expenses, including advertising, transportation, and routine fixed costs.
n
Handle rebate and brand fund accounting for the subsidiary.
n
Maintain and manage the fixed asset register.
n

2.2 Month-end Closing & Reporting
n
n
Participate in the month-end closing process, ensuring all tasks are completed within strict deadlines.
n
Prepare and post journal entries in the general ledger.
n
Assist in preparing monthly financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement) and related management reports.
n
Handle GST-related matters and lodgements, including the preparation and submission of monthly Business Activity Statements (BAS).
n
Assist in annual corporate income tax returns.
n
Support FBT (Fringe Benefits Tax) reporting as required.
n
Cooperate with internal and external audits.
n
Ensure all financial operations comply with Australian Taxation Office (ATO) regulations and Australian Accounting Standards (AASB).

3.3 Systems & Process
n
n
Process financial transactions in the SAP system (noting that some functionalities are currently limited).
n
Perform data analysis and processing using Excel; create and maintain financial templates for recurring use.
n
Support the continuous improvement of financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
n
Assist in the rollout, upgrade, and maintenance of SAP modules for the Australian subsidiary.
n
Ensure the integrity and completeness of financial data.
n
n
2.4 Local Support
n
n
Provide timely financial support and respond to enquiries from local employees.
n
Address finance-related queries and needs raised by onsite staff.
n
Ensure all local finance operations are conducted in full compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
n
Assist the Finance Manager in monthly/annual financial analysis.
n
Support finance work related to vehicle sales, parts sales, and after-sales service.
n
Complete other finance-related tasks as assigned by the department.

3. Qualifications
n
3.1 Education
n
n
Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
n
Holding a junior accounting professional certificate is a plus.
n
n
3.2 Experience
n
n
1-3 years of relevant accounting experience.
n
Experience in the automotive industry or in a multinational company is preferred.
n
Overseas study or work experience is an advantage.
n
n
3.3 Technical & Professional Skills
n
n
Familiarity with PRC GAAP and Australian Accounting Standards (AASB).
n
Knowledge of the Australian tax system, including GST, BAS, and FBT.
n
Proficient in SAP and MS Office, especially Excel.
n
Basic financial analysis capability.
n
Understanding of AP/AR, general ledger, and other fundamental accounting processes.
n

3.4 Language Skills
n
English proficient as a working language (fluent in speaking, reading, and writing)
n
3.5 Other Requirements
n
n
Willingness to be based in Australia (expatriate assignment).
n
Hold a valid Australian work visa, Australian citizenship, or permanent residency is preferred.
n
Robust cross-cultural communication and teamwork abilities.
n
Detail-oriented, responsible, and able to work under pressure.
