Our client is a Large Government organisation seeking an experienced Supervisor, Fleet Design to join their Fleet Production Team.
n
Role Summary
n
This role will manage engineering projects relating to the design and development of firefighting and specialised
vehicles/appliances.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, supervise team members, coordinate engineering activities, manage project delivery and ensure designs meet relevant standards, safety and organisational requirements.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Coordinate and lead engineering tasks for specialised vehicle/appliance design and development, providing creative and fit-for-purpose technical solutions.
n
Supervise and mentor team members, managing workload, performance and delivery outcomes.
n
Oversee engineering projects including planning, resource coordination, costing, risk management, reporting and compliance with relevant standards.
n
Review and assess designs, drawings, models and specifications to ensure they meet organisational and technical requirements.
n
Identify and manage safety, technical, financial and quality risks in line with relevant standards, government policy and best practice.
n
Build collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, engineers, suppliers, technicians and contractors.
n

Selection Criteria
n
n
Advanced Diploma in a relevant technical field such as mechanical, civil,
electrical/mechatronic
engineering, or equivalent technical expertise.
n
Strong experience in engineering design principles, including interpretation of drawings, models, specifications and relevant standards.
n
Understanding of design best-practice principles and Australian Design Rules.
n
Demonstrated experience leading a small technical/design team and delivering design-related outcomes.
n
Strong technical management, research, problem-solving and project management capabilities.
n
Experience in mechanical, automotive, heavy vehicle, specialised vehicle, fleet or related engineering environments is highly desirable.
n
Experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk or similar drafting/design software is highly desirable.
n
Emergency services and/or defence experience will be highly regarded.
n
n
On Offer
n
An interim full-time contract with a NSW Government organisation, with a competitive rate .
