About the Role
n
We are seeking a dedicated Cyber Security Analyst to join our Adelaide-based Security
n
Operations Centre (SOC). In this critical operational role, you will be responsible for first-line alert review and triage within the SOC, assessing incoming security events for validity, severity, and potential customer impact.
n
Working with Senior Analysts and Cyber Security Lead, you will perform initial investigations, gather log data and context, and ensure complex incidents are escalated efficiently. This role plays a key part in maintaining high service quality, supporting ongoing detection tuning, and protecting our customes' digital environments.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Alert Triage & Initial Investigation: Perform first-line triage of security alerts within the SIEM platform. Conduct initial log analysis, enrich alerts, identify false positives, and document rationale for alert closure.
n
Escalation & Handover: Escalate confirmed or complex incidents to Senior Analysts with transparent, complete,
and well-structured context and documentation in line with SLAs and SOC procedures.
n
Log Review & Correlation: Review and correlate logs across multiple sources to assist in establishing incident context and verification across diverse customer environments.
n
Microsoft 365 Alert Handling: Perform initial review and triage of M365 security alerts (email-borne threats, suspicious authentication, account alerts).
n
Documentation & Process Adherence: Maintain accurate records of triage and investigation activity in ticketing systems while strictly following SOC playbooks and customer-specific procedures.
n
Continuous Growth: Participate in structured learning and development activities, shadowing Senior Analysts on complex investigations to expand your technical depth.

Requirements
n
n
Qualifications (Required): Tertiary Study, Vocational Training, or Industry Certification in Cyber Security, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
n
Technical Knowledge: Sound understanding of core cyber security principles, threat landscapes, network security, and Operating Systems (Windows/Linux).
n
Hands-on Exposure: Prior experience or familiarity with SIEM platforms, log analysis tools, and Microsoft 365 Security environments.
n
Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving ability with high attention to detail when investigating logs and anomalous activity.
n
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear incident documentation and handovers.
n
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while adhering to customer SLAs and internal operational standards.
