We're seeking expressions of interest from a passionate and community-mindedFirst Nationsperson to join our team inLightning Ridge NSW (Yuwaalaraay Country). This is afull-time role(75 hours per fortnight) . You'll be helping young people feel strong, supported and connected to services in your community.

About the Role
n
As anAboriginal Youth Wellbeing Workerwith ourheadspace Outreach Program, you'll play a key role in supporting your mob and helping young people feel robust and connected. Your work might include:
n
n
Encouraging young people to reach out for supportand sharing ways to look after mental health in ways that make sense for your community.
n
Providing warm, culturally safe guidanceto help young people (aged *****) find the right services and support when they need it.
n
Bringing people together through community activitiesthat support physical, emotional, social and spiritual wellbeing.
n
n
You'll be supported every step of the way by an organisation that puts its commitment to First Nations peoples at the heart of everything we do.

What You'll Bring

Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander(this is a genuine occupational requirement under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act ****).

A qualification or relevant industry experience inMental Health, Primary Health, Community Services
n
Strongproblem-solving and decision-making skills, with a sense of integrity and initiative.
n
Greatcommunication and people skillsand the ability to manage your time well.
n
Confidence
workingindependently
and as part of a team.
n
Confidence usingMicrosoft Officeand generalcomputer skills.
n
Avalid Australian Driver's Licenceand willingness to travel for work – this rolewill require regular outreachto communities within Western NSW
