Data Governance Analyst | Senior Associate

This role will involve establishing and reinforcing data governance policies and standards, supporting data quality initiatives, and assisting in risk identification related to data handling and protection.

Whatyou'lldo:
n
Support the implementation and ongoing operation of the firm's data governance framework, policies, standards and processes.
n
Set up andmaintainthe enterprise data catalog, including configuring settings, workflows, roles, and permissions.
n
Curate data assets in the catalog by adding business terms, definitions, owners, and lineage so people can find and trust the data they need.
n
Keep catalog content current by reviewing and updating metadata as systems and business needschange.
n
Work with Data Owners, Data Stewards and business stakeholders to clarify data accountabilities and embed effective governance practices.
n
Maintain data governance artefacts, including data inventories, ownership records, business
definitions,standardsand
procedural documentation.
n
Coordinate governance assessments
andmonitorcompliance
with data management requirements, escalating issues whereappropriate.
n
Support the identification, assessment and treatment of data risks,



controlgapsand governance issues.
n
Assistwith data quality activities by documenting issues, coordinating
remediationactionsand
monitoring progress.
n
Prepare clear
reporting,insightsand
presentation materials for governance forums and senior stakeholders.
n
Contribute to
awareness,trainingand
communications that build data governance capability across the firm.
n
Support continuous improvement initiatives
byidentifyingopportunities
to
simplify,standardiseand
strengthen governance processes.
n
Whatwe'relooking for:
n
Experience in data governance, data management, information management, risk,complianceora relateddiscipline.
n
Experience curating data: writing business definitions, tagging assets, assigning owners, and mapping data lineage.
n
Understanding ofmetadata management and how data flows across systems.
n
A practical understanding of data governance concepts, including data ownership, stewardship, quality, lineage, metadata and controls.
n
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess
information,identifyissuesand
recommend practical actions.
n
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain governance requirements clearly to different audiences.
n
Strong stakeholder engagement skills and confidence working collaboratively across business and technology teams.
n
High attention to detail, with the ability
tomaintainaccuraterecords
and produce clear, well-structured documentation.
n
Strongorganisationalskills
and the ability to manage competing priorities, follow-upactionsand deadlines.

A
proactive,curiousand
improvement-focused mindset, with a willingness to learn and take ownership of outcomes.
n
Experience with Microsoft 365 tools; exposure to data cataloguing,
governance,reportingor
workflow
platforms(preferably
Collibra)would beadvantageous.
n
Relevant tertiary qualifications or industry certifications in data, information management, technology,riskor a related field would be desirable.
