About the role
n
We're seeking a proactive Civil Team Leader to join our team in Karratha. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a frontline operational team while delivering essential water and wastewater services that support local communities.
n
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead, develop and motivate a team of Civil Operators to ensure the safe, reliable and compliant delivery of water and sewer services across the district. You will oversee day-to-day operations, coordinate maintenance activities, manage resources and drive a strong culture of safety, teamwork and continuous improvement. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you'll play a key role in achieving operational performance targets and supporting the ongoing reliability of our water and wastewater assets.

What you can expect with this role
n
n
Lead the delivery of safe, reliable and compliant water services across the district, ensuring all operations meet regulatory, corporate and customer service requirements.
n
Manage the operation, maintenance and performance of water assets in accordance with Scheme Management Plans, Maintenance Plans and the Corporation's Asset Management framework.
n
Lead and develop a high-performing team through effective communication, coaching, mentoring, performance management and a solid commitment to continuous improvement.
n
Foster a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with WHS requirements, leading safety initiatives, conducting site inspections, identifying hazards and maintaining a safe working environment.
n
Oversee district operational performance, including workforce planning, resource allocation, financial management, out-of-hours response capability, incident management and achievement of business targets.
n
Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, collaborating across regional boundaries to optimise service delivery, drive operational outcomes and implement organisational change.

Your skills and experience
n
n
For this role, we are looking for excellent talent with:
n
Demonstrated experience in the water and wastewater industry, with a sound understanding of water operations, asset maintenance, service delivery requirements and regulatory obligations.
Experience managing operational teams in a field-based environment will be highly regarded.
n
Proven leadership, team supervision and workforce planning capability, with the ability to effectively allocate resources, prioritise workloads, coordinate operational activities and maintain service levels across a geographically dispersed district.
n
A strong commitment to workplace health and safety, with a track record of fostering a positive safety culture, leading by example, promoting safe work practices and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
n
Well-developed stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across operational teams, contractors, customers and community stakeholders.
n
Certificate III in Water Industry Operations (or equivalent).
n
Completion (or willingness to attainment) Certificate IV in Frontline Management is essential for this position.
