Unique prospect for a Senior Database & Analytics Engineer who wants to do more than build data solutions, you'll help shape how data is engineered, governed, understood and reused across the organisation.
n
As part of a growing AI, Data & Analytics team, you'll work across the full data lifecycle, turning source data, business rules and mappings into trusted, governed and analytics-ready data, while collaborating with Analysts, Data Engineers and stakeholders across the business.
n
You'll be hands-on with SQL, data modelling and transformation, while also having the autonomy to challenge, influence and improve how engineering is done.
n

You will report directly into the Head of Data & AI & collaborate to establish engineering standards, reusable patterns and quality practices, tackle technical debt and constructively challenge designs that create unnecessary complexity or risk.

What you'll bring
n
n
8+ years' experience across data engineering, analytics or related data domains
n




Advanced SQL and strong database development skills
n
Strong experience across data modelling, ETL/ELT, transformation and source-to-target mapping
n
Solid understanding of data quality, reconciliation, metadata and lineage
n
Experience with a modern cloud data platform — Microsoft Fabric / Azure highly desirable
n
Understanding of warehouse, lakehouse and medallion architecture
n
Experience with Git, code review and CI/CD
n
Python and/or PySpark would be a bonus
n
A track record of setting technical standards and improving engineering practices
n
n
Most importantly, you're someone who takes ownership.
n
You don't need detailed technical supervision. You can work through ambiguity, bring people together, whiteboard a problem, make sound technical decisions and drive an outcome from design through to production.
n

You'll work closely with Data Engineers, Technical Business Analysts, Data Governance, Architecture and Reporting & Visualisation teams — helping raise the maturity of the wider capability while contributing to a longer-term Data + AI transformation.
