Salesforce Education Functional Consultant
n
As a Salesforce Education Functional Consultant, you will own the delivery of end-to-end Salesforce solutions, from planning and
n discovery through to design, delivery, training, and handover. This is a highly client-facing role where you will lead solution teams to
n achieve successful business outcomes, supported by Solution Architects, Consultants, and Developers.
n
You will work closely with the Project Managers to develop delivery plans, manage client communication and collaboration, identify
n and mitigate project risks, and ensure solutions are delivered on time, to scope, and within budget.
n
As part of the Education Practice, you will work with a diverse range of clients, including Higher Education providers, training
n organisations, K–12 schools, membership associations, and other for-purpose organisations. The Education Practice primarily delivers
n solutions on the Salesforce platform, with a particular focus on Salesforce Education Cloud.
n
You will also contribute to the growth and capability of the practice through thought leadership, mentoring, development of reusable
n assets and solution accelerators, and participation in broader operational activities.
n
Responsibilities
n
n
Deliver end-to-end Salesforce solutions encompassing discovery, planning, business analysis, solution design,
development,testing,
training, deployment, and handover.
n
Lead solution teams through the full delivery lifecycle, ensuring solutions align with client requirements,
strategicobjectives,
and organisational goals.
n
Work closely with the Project Manager to develop delivery plans, manage client communications, monitor project risks, andmaintain delivery within scope and budget.
n
Conduct business analysis and requirements gathering, translating business needs into practical and scalable
Salesforcesolutions.
n
Develop estimate, and document functional and technical solution designs, processes, user stories, architecture diagrams, andrelated
projectdocumentation.
n
Facilitate client discovery sessions, workshops, showcases, demonstrations, and training.
n
Act as a trusted advisor to clients,



leveraging the broader team's expertise to identify and recommend optimal solutions.
n
Support solution estimation, planning, prioritisation, and delivery across multiple projects as required.
n
Provide operational support and expertise to the Managed Services team when required.
n
Apply appropriate software development and delivery methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall approaches.
n
Contribute to data migration planning and activities, ensuring appropriate consideration of data quality,
mapping,transformation,
and
migrationrequirements.
n
Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to other members of the project and solution teams.
n
Contribute to practice growth through thought leadership, development of solution accelerators and reusable assets, andparticipation in
recruitment,onboarding,
training, enablement, and other operational activities.
n
Promote high standards of delivery, collaboration, documentation, and client service across the practice.
n

Qualifications
n
n
Minimum 3 years' experience delivering Salesforce-based solutions or leading comparable software solutions.
n
Experience delivering solutions within one or more of the following areas:n
n
Education, membership, or association management systems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics, iMIS, Civica,
Paradigm,ReadyTech).
n
Learning Management Systems (e.g. Moodle, Canvas, Brightspace).
n
CRM and fundraising platforms (e.g. Raiser's Edge, Blackbaud CRM, Microsoft Dynamics)
n
Marketing platforms (e.g. Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Ortto).
n
Integration platforms and technologies (e.g. MuleSoft, Workato, Zapier, Make.com, Omatic).
n
K-12 Student Information Systems.
n
n
Proven track record of estimating, planning, designing, and delivering end-to-end technology solutions.
n




Experience acting as the solution lead on at least two full lifecycle implementations.
n
Demonstrated understanding of software development and delivery methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
n
Knowledge and practical understanding of data migration practices.
n
Experience working with Salesforce solutions, preferably including Salesforce Education Cloud and/or Education DataArchitecture (EDA).
n
One or more current Salesforce certifications, such as Salesforce Administrator, Platform Developer, Education Cloud, orother relevant Salesforce certifications.
n
Must be based in Australia and hold a valid permit to work on a permanent basis.
n

Solid knowledge of Salesforce solutions and the ability to translate business requirements into effective Salesforce designs.
n
Preferably, experience or knowledge of Education Cloud, Data Cloud, and Marketing Cloud, including an understanding oftheir data models and relationships.
n
Experience in gathering and analysing business requirements and producing clear documentation, including process maps,user stories, solution designs, and architecture diagrams.
n
Strong consultative and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to establish credibility and build trusted-
advisorrelationships
with clients.
n
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with confidence facilitating workshops, presentations,
showcases,demonstrations,
and training.
n
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a passion for improving business processes and systems.
n
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and deliver tailored solutions that meet client needs.
n
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and guide consultants and other team members.
n
Ability to manage competing priorities and operate effectively across multiple projects and stakeholders.
n
Strong understanding of solution delivery, implementation planning, and project dependencies.
n
Passion for, or experience working within, the for-purpose and education sectors.
n
A proactive approach to continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and practice development.
