The Opportunity
n
Hitachi is seeking a motivated and safety-focused individual to join our team as a Workshop Fitter based at our Newcastle Branch in Beresfield.
n
In this role, you will be responsible for the assembly, maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of equipment, ensuring all tasks are completed safely, professionally, and within required timeframes.
n
You will also be responsible for:
n
n
Repairing and maintaining both new and used equipment
n
Conducting basic failure analysis and identifying specific modes of failure
n
Completing pre-delivery inspections, testing, and commissioning of new equipment
n
Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures
n
Completing and submitting all relevant documentation, service reports, and paperwork
n
Maintaining a clean and organised work environment in line with Hitachi's 5S standards
n
n
About You
n
To be successful in this role, you will have:
n
n
A relevant Mechanical Trade Qualification (Commercial Vehicle trades will also be considered)
n
Previous experience assembling, overhauling, repairing, and servicing mechanical and hydraulic components on construction equipment
n
High Risk Work Licences (Forklift, Dogging, Working at Heights, etc.) highly regarded, but not essential
n
A strong commitment to safety and a sound understanding of Workplace Health and Safety principles
n
Effective communication skills and a commitment to delivering quality workmanship within an OEM workplace
n
