Circular Plastics Australia (PET) is a joint venture between Pact Group, Cleanaway, Asahi Beverages, and Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, operating Australasia's largest end-to-end PET recycling facilities. The company transforms used PET plastic bottles and containers into food-grade recycled plastic resin (rPET), which is then used to manufacture new beverage bottles and food packaging, supporting a circular economy. With facilities in Albury (NSW) and Altona North (VIC), Circular Plastics Australia can recycle the equivalent of approximately 2 billion 600ml PET bottles annually and has more than doubled Australia's local rPET production capacity.

Job Description
n
The primary purpose of the Fitter is to provide production support on plant machinery, including breakdown troubleshooting, project implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
n
This role is part of a maintenance team covering 24-hour operations, 5 days a week, with additional support for weekend production as required.
n
Your key responsibilities will be to:
n
n
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment and machinery to ensure optimal operation.
n
Drive continuous improvement of maintenance processes to support operational goals.
n
Coordinate with the production team to minimize downtime and ensure effective support for safety, quality, and operational improvements
n
Install, assemble and test new machinery and equipment as required, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
n
Collaborate with OEM manufacturers to install and commission equipment.
n
Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
n
Perform Root Cause Analysis on all critical failures of plant and ensure action items derived are implemented and sustained.
n
Ensure all equipment complies with Australian Safety Standards.
n
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, conducting regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
n
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work, including parts used and time spent.

Your skills and experience
n
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
n
n
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing environment
n
Relevant trade qualification as a Fitter and Turner or similar.
n
Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent (desirable).
n
Forklift license (desirable).
n
Prior experience in latest technology and automation within a manufacturing workplace
n
General mechanical troubleshooting, maintenance & repairs on manufacturing production lines
n
Proven ability to problem solve for emergency maintenance and repair.
n
A team player with a positive, self-motivated and proactive attitude is essential.
n
Able to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
n
Stock control of relevant spare parts
