Job description
inhousing is seeking an experienced and values led Community Housing Assets Manager to lead the management, maintenance and performance of our property portfolio.

About the role
Reporting to the Strategy Leader, Inclusive Housing and Technology, the Community Housing Assets Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership across construction, capital works, asset renewal, maintenance, contractor management and compliance.
The role oversees the delivery of asset programs, manages budgets and procurement activities, and provides high-quality advice and reporting to Senior Leaders and the Board.
This role will lead an established and experienced team that deliver new build construction projects, planed and urgent maintenance services, property renewals, and handyperson services.
Key responsibilities
Lead, coach and support the Asset team to deliver high-quality, customer-focused services.
Develop and implement asset strategies, maintenance programs, capital works plans and long-term investment priorities.
Oversee construction, refurbishment and renewal projects from feasibility through to handover.
Manage property maintenance, compliance obligations,
asset risk and contractor performance.
Lead procurement, tendering, contract management and preferred contractor arrangements.
Prepare asset performance, financial and governance reports for Senior Leaders, committees and the Board.
Identify opportunities for improved asset utilisation, sustainability, portfolio performance and business growth.
About you
You will be a confident leader with strong asset, construction or property management experience and a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for people with disability.
You will bring sound judgement, commercial acumen, strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to deliver complex programs in a values-led environment.
Essential requirements
Demonstrated experience leading construction, maintenance or asset management teams.
Experience managing residential construction, capital works and maintenance programs across a property portfolio.
Strong knowledge of procurement, contract management, contractor performance and asset lifecycle management.
Experience developing and managing operational and capital budgets.
Knowledge of residential building legislation, WHS requirements and Australian Standards.
Experience preparing reports for Senior Management and Boards.
Current driver's licence and current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or ability to obtain prior to commencement.
