The Kingston venue operates throughout the week and caters to local customers with dine-in and takeaway services, including options for customers with special dietary requirements.

About the Role
n
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Cafe / Restaurant Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Kingston café. The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating staff, maintaining service and food standards, managing stock and suppliers, and ensuring customers receive a consistently positive dining experience.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Oversee the daily operations of the café, including front-of-house and kitchen coordination.
n
Work with the kitchen team to maintain menu quality, presentation, and appropriate portion standards.
n
Coordinate purchasing, stock levels, supplier orders, and pricing in line with business requirements.
n
Monitor daily sales, expenses,



stock records, and other operational transactions.
n
Recruit, train, supervise, and roster café staff to ensure adequate coverage and efficient service.
n
Maintain a clean, protected, and well-presented dining and work environment in accordance with food safety and workplace requirements.
n
Monitor customer feedback and resolve service concerns professionally to maintain high customer satisfaction.
n
Assist with functions, bookings, reservations, and special dining requirements where required.
n
Support the business in maintaining efficient service, controlling costs, and achieving operational targets.
n

Qualifications
n
n
Tertiary qualification in Hospitality Management or a related field is highly desirable.
n
Minimum 1 year experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality management role.
n
n
Skills & Other Requirements
n
n
Strong knowledge of food service and café operations.
n
Experience supervising and coordinating hospitality staff.
n
Good understanding of stock control, purchasing, and cost management.
n
Strong customer service and communication skills.
n
Ability to manage a busy service environment and resolve issues effectively.
n
Food safety knowledge and relevant hospitality certifications are desirable.
n
