About Your Next Role
n
As the designated second-in-charge (2IC) to the Senior Commercial Manager, you will provide critical leadership across day-to-day operations while driving the long-term sustainability, growth, and operational capability of both the Bukmak and BBSNT businesses.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
Planning and delivering projects from pre-construction through to handover, while managing scope, program, budget, quality, and safety.
n
Monitoring operational and commercial performance, identifying efficiencies, and managing project margins.
n
Leading business development activities, identifying recent revenue streams, and managing tender preparations and contract acquisitions.
n
Building and maintaining strong strategic relationships with clients, partners, internal stakeholders, and remote communities.
n
Providing strong leadership, mentoring, and guidance to your team members while supporting career pathways for First Nations Peoples.
n
Undertaking regular travel to Bukmak and BBSNT worksites via vehicle or light aircraft to review works and provide monthly reporting.
n
Assisting with strategic planning and stepping into the Senior Commercial Manager role as required to ensure leadership continuity.
n
What you will need to bring
n
To excel in this role, you will bring a strong mix of commercial acumen, construction operations experience, and relationship-building skills.
n
We look for:
n
Demonstrated experience in construction, maintenance, or commercial operations with a solid understanding of project delivery.
n
Proven experience in successful business development, revenue generation, and tendering, including government contract results.
n
Strong financial management capabilities, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
n
Well-developed communication, negotiation, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
n
A proven commitment to workplace health, safety, and regulatory compliance.
n
The ability to provide effective mentorship and build workforce capability within an inclusive environment.
n
Experience working in remote First Nations communities, knowledge of Northern Territory government contracts, or relevant tertiary qualifications would be highly regarded
n
