About the role:
n
MSS Security are seeking Casual Security Officers to join our team at the Launceston Magistrates Court. This high-profile site plays a pivotal role in the justice system. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of court staff, visitors, and the public.
n
Duties include but are not limited to:
n
n
Maintain a secure environment within the Magistrates Court.
n
Screen individuals entering the court building and ensure all security protocols are followed.
n
Monitor and manage courtroom security during hearings.
n
Respond promptly and appropriately to incidents involving disruptive or aggressive behaviour.
n
Work collaboratively with court staff and law enforcement to manage high-risk situations.
n
n
About You:
n
We are looking for individuals who possess strong interpersonal skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure,
and a commitment to maintaining the safety and security of the court environment.
n
Ideal candidates will have:
n
n
Previous experience in security or a related field.
n
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deescalate tense situations.
n
A skilled attitude and a high standard of personal presentation.
n
A readiness, confidence and assertiveness to manage challenging situations.
n
n
Requirements:
n
n
Certificate II (or higher) in Security Operations
n
Valid Tasmanian Security licence
n
Valid First Aid and CPR certificates (or willing to obtain)
n
Full Australian working rights
n
Working With Vulnerable People (or willing to obtain)
n
n
