A well-established South Burnett engineering and fabrication business is now accepting applications for its **** Boilermaker Apprenticeship Intake.
n
This is a fantastic opportunity to complete a nationally recognised trade qualification while gaining practical, hands‐on experience working alongside experienced tradespeople.
n
You'll be exposed to a wide variety of fabrication and engineering work, with the prospect to develop skills that can lead to a long‐term career across engineering, fabrication, mining, power generation, maintenance and heavy industry.

The Apprenticeship
n
n
Welding and metal fabrication
n
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
n
Measuring, marking out, cutting and preparing materials
n
Structural steel and component fabrication
n
Using workshop machinery, power tools and welding equipment
n
Assembly and repair of fabricated components
n
Quality and inspection requirements
n
Safe workshop practices and procedures
n
Working alongside experienced Boilermakers and other tradespeople
n
n
You'll undertake a combination of on‐the‐job training and TAFE, working towards your nationally recognised trade qualification.
n
About you
n
Previous experience isn't essential. Attitude, reliability and a genuine interest in the trade are what we're looking for.

Have a genuine interest in welding, fabrication and engineering
n
Enjoy practical,
hands‐on work
n
Be reliable, punctual and willing to learn
n
Have a positive attitude and strong work ethic
n
Be able to follow instructions and work safely

Work well as part of a team

Take pride in your work

Be comfortable in a physical workshop environment

Be keen to build a long‐term career in the trade

Have a driver's licence or reliable transport, or be working towards obtaining your licence

School leavers and applicants looking to commence their first apprenticeship are strongly encouraged to apply.

Work Experience Opportunities
n
Work experience opportunities are also available for students interested in pursuing a Boilermaking apprenticeship.
n
This is a great way to gain some practical exposure to the industry, experience a working fabrication workshop and get a better understanding of what a career as a Boilermaker involves.
